Message from the Secretary
Jim Betts is the Secretary of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, which holds key responsibilities within the New South Wales Government for long-term planning, infrastructure priorities, natural resources, the environment, energy and growing the State’s industries.
We bring together the functions from the former Planning and Environment and Industry clusters. We have six Ministers overseeing the cluster and our Secretary leading the Department.
Our leadership team
We have a strong leadership team across the Department, working together to achieve great outcomes for the people of NSW.
We have six Ministers overseeing each area of the cluster.
We have a goal to maximise the long-term wellbeing of New South Wales. We make decisions that are transparent, efficient and reflective of the diversity of New South Wales.
The NSW Government has identified 38 state outcomes across the public service clusters. These outcomes provide direction, accountability and clear goals for our activities.
