Always Was, Always Will Be

NAIDOC Week is a time for us to come together to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples and culture.

This year’s theme, ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’, recognises that First Nations People have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

Along with National Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week is an important event on the DPIE calendar. Celebrating these events supports us to achieve Aboriginal outcomes and embed Aboriginal culture within our Department. For more information about the Department's Aboriginal strategy and outcomes read Our Place on Country - Aboriginal Strategy and Outcomes 2020-23.
