Search and download air quality and meteorological data using a simple interface.
The data search and download form provides free access to data on all criterion air pollutants and meteorology variables from New South Wales Air Quality Monitoring Network.
You can manually download data using the search instructions, to select the data and the format in which you seek to download the data. Note that meteorological data are available in hourly averages only. Real-time data access is provided via the air quality API.
- Data is available from 1994 onwards, up to the previous day only and current day readings, including hourly averages, are not updated until the next day.
- The current limit for downloading hourly data is set to 365*24*15 records per download. The limit for table and graph display is 365*24*3 records.
Data validation status
- Full data validation completed up to 30 June 2020. Later records have passed initial, automated validation process for online display.
Step 1: Select one data category and parameter/s of interest
- Select a data category (you can only select one at a time).
- For site averages, maximums or exceedances, select parameter/s you need in that data category (multiple pollutants may be selected in one search).
NOTE: for meteorology variables, only hourly site averages are available.
Step 2: Select regions or stations of interest
Select station/s or region/s required. Multiple selections are allowed.
Step 3: Choose data period and format, and download data.
- Set the data period using from and to on the calendar
- Select either table or graph and click Load data to view the data in tabular or graphical formats. The underlying data may then be downloaded by selecting csv or xls format and clicking the load button
- Or you may simply select download followed by Load data.
PDF and Excel formats are available for download.
During 2012, NSW EES gradually moved from TEOMs to BAMs for continuous monitoring of fine particles as PM2.5. Consequently, a step change may appear in data when looking at long range data trends which include this period.
