Our bushfire response
If you have been affected by the NSW bushfires, we are here to help.
There are a number of support options and resources available through the department.
Housing and property
Property owners impacted by the bushfires can find support throughout the recovery and rebuilding process, including on emergency accommodation, returning to your property, rebuilding and repairing.
Emergency temporary accommodation is now available for those who are temporarily or permanently displaced as a result of the NSW bushfires, including rental bond and advance rent costs, and accommodation options in local communities.
Property owners in bushfire-affected regions will have their Notices of Valuation delayed until April 2020.
The NSW Government is coordinating the clean-up of NSW residences and businesses impacted by the NSW bushfires for both insured and uninsured properties.
To help people dispose of their bushfire generated waste quickly and easily, the NSW Government has waived the waste levy fees in bushfire-affected areas.
Emergency assistance is available to bushfire-affected landholders, animal managers (including beekeepers), and those with concerns about livestock, pets, companion animals or wildlife.
A central place for all resources and support options for farm management and primary producers including financial assistance and ways to support health and wellbeing.
Available financial assistance grants, loans and subsidies for bushfire and drought affected primary producers, small business and not for profit organisations.
Support bushfire-affected communities and small businesses by shopping with them directly online via the Buy Regional initiative. If you're a business owner, you can also create your own online store.
Wildlife and habitat support
Information and support is available for community and wildlife rehabilitation groups involved in rescuing and caring for injured and distressed native wildlife after an emergency.
Critical information for councils about how to monitor and measure town water quality and manage potential issues.
To assist with the bushfire recovery effort, online charity, GIVIT, has partnered with the NSW government to provide an easy way of giving directly people in need without overwhelming Councils and charities on the ground.
