About the project / what’s happening now?

Property & Development NSW (PDNSW) is repurposing the under-utilised NSW Government-owned site at 80 Betty Cuthbert Drive, Lidcombe.

The plans for the 5.9ha site include:

  1. A new health facility for Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MSL) on the site, replacing the existing no longer fit for purpose facility;
  2. A future educational establishment to address potential enrolment growth; and
  3. A residential subdivision that ties into the prevailing residential land use and character of the locality.

The project involves amending the zoning, enabling works and subdivision of the site to permit the proposed uses.

The project team is working collaboratively with Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MSL), the Department of Education, Cumberland Council (Council), Transport for NSW and a range of various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.

Background / what’s happened so far?

MSL development application has been approved by the Sydney Central City Planning Panel for its proposed new facilities.

PDNSW has lodged a planning proposal with Council to amend the zoning and this is currently under Council assessment.

Next steps / what’s coming up?

  • PDNSW will lodge a development application with Council for the enabling works and subdivision.
  • Assessment and Gateway determination of the PDNSW planning proposal.
  • Construction of the new MSL facility.
