Darling Quarter was a $500 million renewal project, which included new national headquarters for the Commonwealth Bank, housed in a 6 Star Green Star building, and a world-class 4,000 metres squared children's playground. The renewed area was opened in 2011.
Through a partnership with Lendlease, benchmark additions to both Sydney's commercial capacity, and community play space were created.
- 2007-08: Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority developed the renewal vision, design guidelines and EOI for development partners.
- 2009: Lendlease engagement and design development commenced
- 2009-11: Construction of Darling Quarter
- 2011: Darling Quarter opened
Darling Quarter has received 5 International and over 39 Australian Industry Awards.
The children's playground and other public domains of Darling Quarter continue to be managed by Property NSW.
