Project updates

The project at Eve Street is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.

Construction on the homes began in July 2020 and is expected to be complete in mid-2021.

Partner Academy Construction and Development is the construction partner on the development.

Around 15 jobs will be created as part of this project.

The NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) is transforming a site in the Cumberland Local Government Area into a residential building with 10 fit-for-purpose social housing units for seniors.

These high-quality homes are designed to the highest standards and will help ensure residents can safely age in place. All ground level units are suitable for residents with mobility restrictions, and can be adapted for occupation by wheelchair users.

The site is also well located close to public transport, with regular bus services to Parramatta and neighbourhood shopping centres within easy walking distance.

Designed to blend into the surrounding mix of low and medium density residential areas, the two-storey development will contain six two-bedroom and four one-bedroom units, with five car parks.

Once the site is redeveloped, its primary frontage will be re-orientated to Blaxcell Street, which is an important local arterial road.

Mature street trees will be planted to improve the streetscape.
