More opportunities for tenants

A key focus of the project is to address housing needs while providing practical opportunities to transition social housing residents to housing independence. Mission Australia Housing will provide support to assist social housing residents to connect with education, training and employment opportunities.

New education and community facilities

The redevelopment will help to meet the growing demand for high quality education by providing a non-government co-educational vertical high school and two 75 place child care centres. A range of community facilities, public space and a retail centre are also planned.

Key Benefits

  • An integrated community

The Ivanhoe Estate will become an integrated community that defines a new approach to the delivery of social housing.

  • Community based place-making

World class urban design and community based place-making will be central to creating a highly desirable place to live.

  • Current and future residents

Social housing will be designed to meet the needs of current and future residents.

  • Public open spaces

Quality facilities and public open spaces will support a cohesive and sustainable community.

  • New social housing
