Important information

Your report plays a crucial role in helping ensure that everyone is complying with water laws in NSW. Please set aside about 10 minutes to complete this form. We appreciate your time.

How to answer the questions

Please provide specific and detailed information. This will help us assess your report and determine the appropriate investigation processes. Photos and videos of suspicious activities are helpful. Insufficient information may limit NRAR's ability to respond.
Please note that:

  • To submit the form, you must answer the questions marked with an asterisk (*). An error message will appear if you don't answer a required question.
  • You cannot save this form and complete it later, so you must complete it in one session.

Once the report has been submitted

Our water compliance hotline receives your report. We then review your report within ten working days.

If you give us your contact details, we will let you know we received your report. We might also ask for more information. We will inform you of our review outcome and of any investigations.

Read our Compliance with water legislation guidelines for more information about what happens when you make a report. The guidelines are available in a PDF format and are 415.97 KB in size.

We review and record every report of suspicious activity, but your report may not always lead to an NRAR officer investigating. Your report helps with NRAR's broader efforts to ensure compliance.

Please read our privacy statement

We treat any information you provide as confidential, and we comply with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. Under this Act, you have rights and obligations.
