The Smart Places Acceleration Program provides co-contributions for the NSW Government to partner with councils, property owners, and joint organisations; industry; and the innovation sector. These initiatives are testing and validating smart solutions and the benefits they can deliver, so that we can share the lessons learned. 

In the two years since launch, 28 initiatives have been funded across the state, with: 

  • More than 60 councils involved in both metropolitan and regional areas 
  • More than 125 expressions of interest received 
  • Over 300 jobs created so far.
