Free tree giveaway

Our COVID-19 response:

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting Greater Sydney, we’re taking steps to put your safety first. The free tree giveaway is planned to reopen when restrictions ease. Leave your details below to be notified as soon as more trees are available. Next tree species list will be released when the giveaway reopens.
  • There are delays in getting tree(s) to June applicants. Your local Bunnings will call or text when your trees are ready for you to pick them up. We thank you for your understanding with this delay.

2021 free tree giveaway

From June to October, we have partnered with Bunnings Warehouse to make free trees available to Greater Sydney households.

Under the Greening our City Premier’s Priority we launched the free tree giveaway program in August 2020. We have had a fantastic response from households so far, with more than 29,000 trees already planted in Greater Sydney backyards. These trees have been supplied by Bunnings Warehouse and IndigiGrow Nursery.

The giveaway is a fantastic opportunity to add some greenery to your home and help make your suburb an even more beautiful place to live. Planting more trees will provide more shade, more privacy and cleaner air. We are encouraging everyone to plant one.
