What is the Virtual Marketplace

The Metering and Measurement Virtual Marketplace is a web-based tool that facilitates contact between water users, installers and suppliers of non-urban metering and floodplain harvesting measurement equipment.

Visit the Virtual Marketplace

For water users

The Virtual Marketplace allows water users to search for specific services, installers and/or suppliers of equipment working in their local area (or any area in NSW). This includes installers in border regions who work in NSW.

After search results have been returned, the water user can request that a specific installer or supplier contact them, or they can initiate direct contact themselves.

For service providers

Equipment installers and suppliers can also search the Virtual Marketplace for water users who have registered and shared their details and may be seeking their services.

How do I use the Virtual Marketplace?

Suppliers and installers (service providers)

Step 1: Sign up and register your details

Access the Metering and Measurement Virtual Marketplace.

Sign up and register your details as a service provider.

Note: If you are a certified practising hydrographer, a registered surveyor or a registered professional engineer, please complete the Non-DQP sign up form to provide your registration details so that a profile can be set up.

Step 2: Customise your profile

Add details to your user profile that describe the services or products you can provide, including the geographic location you are in.

Step 3: Search for water users

You can search the Virtual Marketplace for water users seeking the services (installation, validation etc.), or metering and measurement equipment that you provide.

Note: Water users’ information is not automatically shared in the Virtual Marketplace. Some water users may opt to keep their profile private which means those people will not appear in your searches.

Keeping your profile up to date to describe the services and products you can provide means water users who choose not to share their information within the Virtual Marketplace will be able to find you when they conduct their own searches.

Step 4: View water users

The locations of water users who have agreed to share their information can be viewed in your search results. The distance of the water user from the location you provided in your profile is shown in kilometres and can be viewed on a map.

Step 5: Register your interest with water users

After viewing your search results, you can contact water users who have agreed to share their contact details. This will automatically send an email to the selected water users letting them know that you are interested in meeting their metering and measurement needs.
