About the project
The 30-storey development is well advanced and will include a new hotel, serviced apartments, retail, a new IMAX theatre and significant upgrades to the public domain including a new playground and amenities in the Darling Harbour area.
Rich in Indigenous history, for more than 7,000 years Darling Harbour was a frontier, a boundary between the Wangal and Gadigal clans of the coastal Eora people who used the harbour for food and transport up the Parramatta River.
With around 26 million visitors to Darling Harbour each year, the precinct is a family-oriented playground for all ages. Alongside a fine array of waterside dining, fashionable nightspots and cultural events, the area also boasts some of Sydney’s most compelling attractions.
The addition of the new hotel, the IMAX theatre and playground will further support the NSW Government’s tourism objectives and allow for these assets to be appreciated by the public. The project will create jobs in the construction, hospitality and tourism industries, bringing economic benefits to Sydney and wider NSW for years to come.
The development will deliver high quality tourist accommodation within the Sydney CBD, improved connectivity in Darling Harbour and a new playground amidst public open space for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Advisory and Transactions utilised its planning, procurement, and stakeholder management expertise to oversee the leasing and development process.
The Advisory and Transactions team is working with the developer and landowner to ensure compliance with obligations under key transaction documents such as the delivery of public domain upgrades.
Construction is well underway. Advisory and Transactions will continue to play a role in this impressive project until the opening of the hotel and public domain. The team is monitoring the design, approval, and construction phases to ensure adherence with the Agreement for Lease, delivery milestones and timeframes.
