About the project
The Maitland Workplace Hub consolidates multiple government agencies into one workplace, delivering a modern, open workplace fit-out that supports flexible, hybrid working while creating a desirable destination that encourages attendance and improves teamwork, collaboration and culture.
The workplace also provides flexible space for travelling employees to drop-in and work when in the Hunter region.
The new workplace helped reduce government’s office footprint in Maitland, operational costs and its environmental footprint, while providing a modern regional workplace consistent with metropolitan locations.
In delivering the workplace of the future, today, the Maitland Workplace Hub delivers a consistent workplace design and user experience, a single common NSW Government ICT network and centralised workplace services, all creating a flexible workplace that is resilient and adaptable to government changes.
Regional government workplace hubs:
- enable and support government employees to live and work in the regions, closer to the people they serve, to help build deeper connections with local communities
- encourage collaboration, innovation and increase employee productivity
- help attract and retain a greater diversity of talented workers in regional NSW
Background
Property and Development NSW previously leased workspace across 3 buildings in Maitland. With some leases expiring in 2023, there was an opportunity to consolidate agencies into one building, reducing the government’s overall office footprint and costs.
Property and Development NSW completed the Maitland Workplace Hub in early 2024.
