We’ve completed 16 new social housing units on Edward and Gore streets in Port Macquarie. This consists of 10 x 2-bedroom and 6 x 1-bedroom units for social housing residents.

To make life easier for older residents, people with disability and those with prams, 8 ground-floor units have level access and new wide footpaths span the property frontage. Two units are adaptable for residents with restricted mobility.

Located within walking distance of public transport to the Port Macquarie CBD, the complex is also close to Kooloonbung Creek Nature Reserve.

Each unit has a solar-powered hot water system designed to reduce residents’ energy bills. Water is recycled through an underground tank system and used on the grounds and in laundries.

The project created around 30 local jobs.
