What’s happening

We’re repurposing NSW Government-owned land to boost housing supply and diversity in Bega.

Through close collaboration with TAFE NSW, we’ve taken steps to acquire the former Bega TAFE site and will use it to deliver much-needed housing into the region.

Development of this well-located destination will transform underutilised government land into 97 new homes for the community, subject to planning approval. This includes 30% set aside for social and affordable housing residents.

The project proposes to deliver a modern, new mixed housing community that includes:

  • 65 private homes
  • 8 affordable homes and
  • 24 social homes, including a 20-unit complex of purpose-designed smaller and accessible homes to suit the region’s large and growing population of older people.

Working with Bega Valley Shire Council to deliver better outcomes

Our ongoing collaboration with Bega Valley Shire Council will ensure social housing meets the needs of the local community now and in the future.

By repurposing government-owned land to increase the supply of new homes, we will ease significant housing stress in the region, create new job opportunities and strengthen the community for all Bega residents.

Next steps

We will provide opportunities for feedback from the community, which will be used to inform our plans.
