Construction has begun on homes for 40 social housing residents in Lambton.
Overlooking Jesmond Park, the 2-storey, $9 million development comprises 8 1-bedroom and 12 2-bedroom units.
The development is close to public transport, Lambton Public School and the local shopping centre.
Design features include:
- 2 adaptable units to accommodate wheelchair users
- step-free access to all ground-floor units
- solar panels to power common areas
- a central driveway leading to 10 parking spaces, including 2 disabled spaces
- landscaping, including 41 new trees
- new footpaths around the site.
The project will support 39 jobs during construction and is expected to be completed in mid-2023.
