Current engagement activities

As part of the development of floodplain management plans in the southern Murray-Darling Basin, we are engaging with the community and seeking feedback on key elements that will be used to prepare the draft plans.

Stage 1 public consultation in the Murrumbidgee Valley is intended to provide an early opportunity for community feedback that will inform development of the draft floodplain management plan prior to formal public exhibition later in 2024. During the consultation period from 25 March until 5 May 2024, landholders and other stakeholders are invited to book individual appointments with departmental staff to ask questions about the key elements of the draft floodplain management plan and how to make a submission.
