About advertising and objections

Some water supply work and/or use approval applications must be advertised, as outlined under Clause 26 of the Water Management (General) Regulation 2018. Advertised applications will be listed here for a minimum of 28 days to allow members of the community to lodge any objections.

Advertisements will include:

  • location
  • work details
  • use details (if applicable)
  • water source or floodplain management plan area
  • applicant’s name
  • how a water management work will be used (if applicable)
  • information on how to object and the objection deadline.

The department considers all objections raised in accordance with section 93 of the Water Management Act 2000; objectors may be contacted for further information or consultation to establish an outcome.

Macquarie and Cudgegong Regulated Rivers Water Source

Dubbo Regional Council has applied to amend a Water supply work approval to include a new 150mm Centrifugal pump for the Macquarie river in the Parish of Geurie, County of Lincoln for the purpose of town water supply (ref: A034849).

Macleay Valley Water Source

Kempsey Shire Council has applied for a Water Supply Work Approval for a (150mm Pump with a capacity of 2.5 L/s to extract water from the Macleay River (Name of watercourse eg German Creek)), on Belbrook Bridge, over the Macleay River, Toose Road, in the Parish of Oreen, County of Dudley for Town Water Supply purposes (ref: A034874).

Floodplain Management Plan for the Macquarie Valley Floodplain 2021

The Department for Regional NSW has applied to amend a Flood Work Approval for a new 350ML off river storage. in the Parish of Mullah Back, County of Narromine for the purpose of prevention of inundation of land by floodwaters (ref: A034847).
