About bores for domestic and stock use
This type of water supply work approval applies to bores that will only be used for stock and domestic purposes. These are referred to as basic landholder rights (BLR) bores. Another term for this type of approval is ‘water supply work approval to take groundwater under a domestic and stock right’.

The department has made some changes to our water licence and approval application forms. The changes make it easier for applicants to understand what is needed. The improved applications will help to reduce processing timeframes.

Submit by email
Email your completed application form and any other documents it requires to waterlicensing.servicedesk@dpie.nsw.gov.au.
Fees *
Lodgement fee of $983.83 for a New bore for domestic and stock right (BLR bores).
If applicable, an additional fee of $151.31 will be required for a technical referral.*

Paying for your application
After we have accepted your application form, an officer from the department will call you to finalise your payment. You can pay the application fee by credit card or direct deposit.
