Extend a flood work approval

You can extend a flood works approval by using the form that we emailed to you 60 days before it is due to expire.

Apply to extend a flood works approval

The department sends out extension notices to the nominated contact 60 days prior to the expiry of all approvals. The extension notice includes a cover letter and application form for extension. Another notice is sent 30 days prior to expiry.

Note: if your approval expires before you submit an application for extension, the fees will change.

How to apply

What you need to do

If you wish to lawfully continue using your flood works approval, you need to:

  • Review, sign and complete the supplied form
    • If your approval expires, you will no longer have the right to use the flood works approval for the purposes specified.
  • Apply to extend the duration of your approval before the expiry date
    • Note – If there is more than one approval holder, all co-holders must make a joint application.

The application form to renew your approval will have been emailed to you with the notice of renewal. If your approval expires in less than 60 days and have not received an email, please enquire through waterlicensing.servicedesk@dpie.nsw.gov.au.

Email your completed application form and any other documents it requires to waterlicensing.servicedesk@dpie.nsw.gov.au.

Fees*

Lodgement fee to extend a flood work approval:

$253.52 before expiry or $422.53 after expiry.

Paying for your application

After we have accepted your application form, an officer from the department will call you to finalise your payment. You can pay the application fee by credit card or direct deposit.
