Project updates

NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) partnered with Brisbuild Pty Limited to complete a two-storey, twelve-unit apartment building comprising six two-bedroom and six one-bedroom units for seniors.

This $4.12 Million development in the Blacktown local government area, is located within walking distance to public transport with services to Mt Druitt train station and Westfield Shopping Centre.

With a social housing uplift, this development provides modern fit-for-purpose social housing for up to 18 new senior social housing residents to better suit their needs, ensuring they safely age in place.

Designed to the highest standards, this development has extensive landscaping and includes environmental features such rainwater harvesting. It also has resident car parking including accessible car parking spaces, level access to all ground floor units, a new accessible footpath to allow residents to easily reach local bus services and an upgraded bus stop.

This project at Murdoch Street is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.

In line with the NSW Government’s Future Directions for Social Housing plan, this project highlights the NSW Government’s continued commitment to deliver well designed, fit-for purpose homes integrated within the community to create greater diversity and help strengthen support for social housing residents.

Around 21 jobs were created as part of this project.
