NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) partnered with Academy Construction and Development to complete a two-storey, 12-unit residential apartment building on Hilda Avenue, Casula, comprising four one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom units for seniors and people with a disability.

Located close to public transport, the M5 Motorway corridor and walking distance to vital community services at Casula Mall, this $3.50 million new development in the Liverpool Local Government Area, provides modern fit-for-purpose social housing for up to 20 new senior social housing residents and people with a disability, ensuring they safely age in place.

The Hilda Avenue renewal project has provided an uplift of social housing and complements the housing character of the local area.

Designed to the highest standards, this development has modern design finishes and materials, extensive landscaping and includes environmental features such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting. It also has resident car parking including accessible car parking spaces and a new street frontage accessible footpath.

All ground level units are suitable for residents with mobility restrictions and readily adaptable for wheelchair use.

The project at Hilda Avenue is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.

Around 17 jobs have been created as part of this project.
