Construction is now underway and works will continue until early 2022. Westbury Constructions Pty Ltd is the construction partner on this project.
Around 27 jobs will be created as part of this project.
This development is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.
The site is situated 300m from the North Richmond shopping precinct and 170m from Richmond North Public School.
NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) is constructing contemporary social housing on the site comprising 15 townhouses and villas. The site previously contained four cottages.
The development will have 15 social housing dwellings, configured as 13 two-bedroom townhouses and two one-bedroom villas and 15 car spaces.
The one-bedroom villas are adaptable and will easily accommodate wheelchair users.
Around 120m of new street footpath will be installed to help future residents more easily reach public transport and other services.
The design is a modern expression of medium density development, setting a quality standard for other developments in the area to follow.
Two mature Chinese Tallowood and Queensland Brush Box trees will be retained in the front yard.
