NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) engaged Tradelink Constructions to deliver a three-storey, eighteen-unit residential apartment building on Pegler Avenue, South Granville, comprising ten two-bedroom and eight one-bedroom units.
This is the first residential apartment building in the area to take advantage of a recently endorsed high density residential zone.
Located within walking distance to public transport with services to Bankstown, Hurstville and Parramatta stations, this new development, in the Cumberland Local Government Area, provides modern fit-for-purpose quality social housing for up to 28 social housing residents.
The Pegler Avenue renewal project significantly increases the number of social housing units on the site and provides environmental features including solar panels to power lighting in common areas, water recycling for landscaped areas, a communal garden and a new footpath along the building’s frontage.
An internal lift provides level access to all units and the basement and six units are adaptable for people with restricted mobility.
This project is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.
Around 33 jobs have been created as part of this project.
