The NSW Land and Housing Corporation will soon commence work to deliver 75 new, fit-for-purpose inner-city social housing dwellings at 17-31 Cowper St and 2A-2D Wentworth Park Rd.
Demolition is expected to start in late April, with construction of the new social housing dwellings expected to start in mid-2022.
Inspired by Glebe’s rich history, this project was designed by Sydney architectural firm Johnson Pilton Walker with expert design advice from The Prince’s Trust Australia.
This eight storey renewal project will transform ageing social housing into modern, three studio, 40 one-bedroom, 27 two-bedroom apartments, and five three-bedroom terrace homes.
Located within walking distance to bus stops and Wentworth Park light rail station, this development will feature environmental green roofs and new landscaping, accessible apartments, and footpath upgrades.
Due for completion in early 2024, this development will become home to around 130 new social housing residents and will help create around 170 jobs during the life of the project.
