Project updates

Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) partnered with E Galasso Pty Ltd to recently complete a two-storey, eight-unit residential apartment building comprising six two-bedroom and two one-bedroom units for seniors.

Located close to public transport and community services and within walking distance to Bright Park, this $2.52 million new development in the Cumberland Local Government Area provides modern fit-for-purpose quality social housing for up to 14 senior social housing residents.

The Bright Street renewal project increases the number of social housing units on the site and provides 26m of new street footpath, car parking and four ground floor units with barrier free access suitable for residents with mobility issues.

The development has been designed to complement the streetscape and character of the local area.

This project is one of about 50 projects being delivered under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package, to help boost economic recovery from COVID-19 in local communities throughout the state.

Around 13 jobs have been created as part of this project.
