NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) has partnered with Mono Constructions and BlueCHP to redevelop a former low-density social housing site into a four-storey mixed tenure development in Peakhurst.
Located within walking distance to public transport with services to Hurstville, Bankstown and Parramatta, this renewal project will include thirty-seven social housing dwellings comprising 13 one-bedroom units, 21 two-bedroom units, 3 three-bedroom units and 35 private units.
This $22 million development in the Georges River local government area is due for completion around mid-2023 and will become home for 100 new residents, half of which will comprise social housing residents. This redevelopment will help create around 105 jobs during the life of the project.
Mono Constructions will transform the site into a quality, modern mixed tenure development. The social and private apartments will be in separate buildings surrounded by generous communal landscaped space centered around a retained large Paperbark tree. The development will also feature level access for all ground floor social housing units, a lift for upper level access, new stormwater easement and resident parking.
In line with the NSW Government’s Future Directions for Social Housing plan, this project highlights the NSW Government’s continued commitment to deliver well designed, fit-for purpose homes integrated within the community to create greater diversity and help strengthen support for social housing residents.
